THESSALONIANS 4:1617December 9

THESSALONIANS 4:1617 December 9 Thessalonians 4:16-17 —For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: And the dead in Christ shall rise first; Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. The Redeemed Of The Lord Will Also Have A Close Encounter Of The Fourth Kind When The Trump Of God Sounds And The Dead In Christ Rise And We Sail From This Earth In The Rapture Of The Church! Part Two— Paul told the Corinthians he was showing them a “mystery.” The word “mystery” meant something, which had not been revealed before— not something that was incapable of being understood. The mystery he explained to them was that we would be changed at the last trump and this change would occur “in the twinkling of an eye.” Now what does “the twinkling of an eye” mean? It was the quickest dimension of time Paul could explain. The “batting of an eye” means, in the neurological sense, that an impulse has gone form the eye to the brain and back in a complete circuit. Bu the “twinkling of an eye” is the time it takes the impulse to go from the eye to the brain without returning. So a twinkling is onehalf the length of time of the batting of an eye. Paul said that one moment you’ll be standing here on this earth, and in the twinkling of an eye—so fast that you’ll blink and before you can open your eyes again—in that fraction of a second, you’d be standing in the clouds in the presence of the Son of God! The resulting deaths of hundreds of soldiers, in our own land, sparked the awakening of the “sleeping giant” of the American military to provide protection for innocent U.S. citizens. A similar day of unspeakable terror, in New York City on September 11, 2001, which resulted in the death of thousands of innocent Americans, however, has not produced the same feverous attempt to obtain victory in protecting our citizenry. The attack on the World Trade Center was an attack against civilians by Islamic terrorists who believe that to die while fighting infidels largely innocent civilians will guarantee instant arrival into heaven. We know the organizations that provide training and financial support to the terrorists. We know that some Palestinians were dancing in the street when they heard of Americans dying by the thousands in New York and Washington. These were the same groups and individuals who applauded the bombing of our embassies in 1998 and the attack on the USS Cole. Douglas MacArthur, the great World War II general, said it well when he stood before a joint session of Congress after being relieved of command in Korea. “In war,” MacArthur said, ‘there is no substitute for victory.” Think about this. America has the power to crush the terrorists of the world, but we do not have the will. The terrorists of the world have the will to crush us, and soon, if not already, they will have the power to do it. The righteous must stand up and defend the innocent from those who seek to harm them. Saint Paul wrote to the Galatians, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” 6:7. Sowing included acts of omission. If we don’t wake up and defend the innocent, we too will become victims. Source: Attack On America
